1. Overview of Services
Direct2Readers.com is a reader-focused discovery platform and marketplace where readers can discover books, audiobooks, serialized fiction, comics, graphic novels, manga, movies, and short films. Authors and creators (“Sellers”) can sell their work either through external retailer links or directly through our platform.
2. Accounts & Eligibility
For Readers:
- You may browse the site without an account.
- Creating an account allows you to save preferences, track purchases, and interact with features like the Librarian chatbot.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
For Sellers:
- To sell on Direct2Readers.com, you must create a Storefront and pay an annual subscription of $100 per pen name.
- Sellers may list an unlimited number of products.
- Sellers can choose to link to external retailers (affiliate products) or sell directly through Direct2Readers.com.
- If selling directly, Sellers receive an 80% commission on sales, with fulfillment handled through Bookshop.org, Lulu, or BookFunnel.
3. Payments & Fees
- Readers: Payments for purchases made directly on Direct2Readers.com are processed securely via our payment gateway.
- Sellers: Payments for sales made directly on Direct2Readers.com will be disbursed on a monthly basis.
- Subscription Fees: The $100/year Storefront subscription fee is non-refundable.
4. Refund & Return Policy
Our refund and return policy varies depending on whether the purchase was made through an external retailer or directly on Direct2Readers.com. Please refer to our Refund & Returns Policy for full details.
5. Intellectual Property & Content Usage
- Sellers retain full rights to their intellectual property when listing products on Direct2Readers.com.
- By listing content, Sellers grant Direct2Readers.com a limited license to display and promote their products.
- Users may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute content from Direct2Readers.com without explicit permission from the content owner.
6. Prohibited Conduct
Users may not:
- Engage in fraudulent or deceptive practices.
- Upload or sell content that violates copyright, trademark, or intellectual property laws.
- Post or distribute harmful, obscene, or illegal content.
- Attempt to manipulate pricing, reviews, or the platform’s ranking algorithms.
- Use automated tools or bots to scrape, copy, or manipulate data from the site.
7. Liability & Disclaimers
- Direct2Readers.com acts as a marketplace facilitator and is not responsible for the quality, accuracy, or legality of content listed by Sellers.
- We do not guarantee the availability of any product listed on the site.
- We are not responsible for transactions made with third-party retailers.
8. Termination of Accounts
Direct2Readers.com reserves the right to terminate or suspend any account that violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or causes harm to the platform or its users.
9. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Direct2Readers.com after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
