Updated Step by Step Guide (May 26, 2025)
This step-by-step guide walks you through how to add a new listing in your Direct2Readers dashboard, based on the walkthrough video by Chelle Honiker. This covers all listing types — from direct sales links to BookFunnel ebooks and Lulu print editions.
Step 1: Log In and Access Your Dashboard
- Go to https://direct2readers.com/frontend-manager
- Log in using your vendor credentials.
- From the left menu, click Products → Add Title.
Step 2: Add the Required Info
- Upload the Featured Image — this is required for all listings (ebook, paperback, hardcover, etc.)
- Listing Title — required
- Blurb/Description — required
- (Optional) Fill in subtitle, series name, book number, publisher, publication date, and language
Step 3: Choose Your Format
Select the appropriate format for this listing:
- Direct Link (external store or retailer like Amazon, Kobo, etc. This includes Kindle Unlimited!)
- Audiobook
- Serial or Subscription (e.g., Patreon, Ream, Substack)
- Comic/Graphic Novel
- Movie or Short Film
- LitRPG/Game Book
- Kickstarter
- Ebook delivered by BookFunnel
- Paperback delivered by Lulu
- Hardcover delivered by Lulu
Note: BookFunnel and Lulu listings will remain in draft until we validate and activate them.
Step 4: Enter Format-Specific Fields
Depending on the format selected, additional fields will appear:
For Direct Link:
- ASIN (optional but recommended — helps us gather “also boughts” and related data)
- Formats available — select all that apply
- If you have multiple formats with separate links, submit this form once for each version (e.g., ebook, special edition, signed copy)
For Audiobooks:
- Audiobook cover (1080×1080)
- Narrator name
- Duration (hours + minutes)
- Audiobook provider (e.g., Audible, Fable, BookFunnel — note: we don’t currently host audio files via BookFunnel)
- Bridged/unabridged
- Audiobook ISBN (optional)
- Purchase/listen link
For Serials/Subscriptions:
- Platform name (e.g., Ream, Substack, Patreon)
- Subscription link
- Optional pricing or reward descriptions
For Comics, Movies, LitRPG:
- Purchase/view link
- Tags and categories relevant to the genre or audience
For Kickstarter:
- Kickstarter goal
- Kickstarter URL
- Start and end dates
- Main reward level name, description, and pledge amount
Step 5: Add Book-Specific Files (for BookFunnel or Lulu formats)
Ebook (BookFunnel):
- Ebook cover (used on BookFunnel)
.epub
file (required).pdf
file (optional)- ISBN (optional)
Paperback (Lulu):
- ISBN (required)
- Cover PDF (print-ready)
- Interior PDF
- Select from standard Lulu options:
- Size (e.g., 6×9, 5.5×8.5)
- Interior type (B&W, color)
- Paper weight
- Finish (matte or glossy)
- Page count
Hardcover (Lulu):
- ISBN (required)
- Cover PDF (casewrap binding)
- Interior PDF
- Select hardcover-specific options
- Page count
Step 6: Add Pricing (Optional but Recommended)
- Regular price
- Sale price (optional)
Even for non-book listings (Kickstarter, short films, serials), you can include pricing — but it’s not required.
Tip: Adding a price helps with search and filters, especially when users sort by price range.
Step 7: Add Tags, Categories, and Keywords
- Select all relevant genres, tropes, audience categories, and keywords
- Be accurate — this affects reader discovery and AI recommendations
- You can request additional tags to be added by contacting support
Step 8: Submit Your Listing
- Click Submit
- Your listing will be converted into a vector in our discovery engine (approx. 30 minutes)
- If it’s a BookFunnel or Lulu listing, our team will begin validation/setup and notify you when it’s live

OTHER DASHBOARD FEATURES
Coupons
Use coupons to create special offers or reward readers.
Creating a Coupon:
- In your dashboard, click Coupons → Add New Coupon
- Fill in:
- Coupon Code
- Discount Type: Fixed cart, percentage, or fixed product discount
- Amount and any usage restrictions
- Expiry Date (optional)
- Click Publish
Managing Coupons:
- Click Coupons to edit or delete existing ones
- Monitor usage to evaluate campaign performance
Store Details
Keep your store info professional and up to date.
Accessing Store Settings:
- In the dashboard menu, click Store Details
What to Update:
- Store Name and Logo
- Store Description: Brief overview of your brand
- Contact Info: Email, phone, address
- Social Media Links
- Store Policies: Shipping, returns, privacy
- Click Save when finished
Tips for Success
- Use high-quality images and strong product descriptions
- Keep your pricing consistent across platforms
- Check your dashboard regularly to update listings, track sales, and manage promotions
- Promote your Direct2Readers storefront on social media and newsletters
